From October 15 to 17, 2025, I participated in the “GLOBAL OFFSHORE WIND SUMMIT JAPAN 2025” (hereafter, GOWS-J2025) held in Akita Prefecture. During the conference, a total of three speakers from our company and our sponsor, JERA Nex bp Japan LLC (hereafter, JNBPJ), took the stage. We exchanged views on the latest trends and challenges in offshore wind power generation, as well as initiatives for coexistence with local communities.
At the conference, Mr. Yamada, CEO of our sponsor JNBPJ, took the stage as Vice Chairman of the Japan Wind Power Association (JWPA). He participated in discussions on the themes of “Offshore Wind Construction Management and Vessel Availability” and “Challenges and Solutions for Stabilizing Offshore Wind Business Feasibility,” making recommendations regarding the role of offshore wind and necessary support measures.
Our Project Director, Mr. Sasaki, gave a presentation on our company’s initiatives under the theme “Efforts to Secure Offshore Wind Business Feasibility,” explaining our intention to ensure steady progress on the relevant project going forward..
At the event hosted by Akita City, “The Current Status and Future Prospects of Offshore Wind Power Generation in Akita City,” our Regional Coexistence Team Manager, Mr. Marukawa, participated in a panel discussion. He introduced our initiatives and exchanged opinions on topics such as promoting the participation of local companies, the ideal form of coexistence between offshore wind and local communities, and the future prospects of offshore wind in Akita City.
At a public forum organized by the Renewable Energy Institute—one of the GOWS-related events—Mr. Yoshida of our sponsor JNBPJ participated in the panel discussion “Challenges and Prospects for Coexistence between Fisheries and Offshore Wind.” He presented on coexistence with fishery operators based on practical experience.
Through our employees’ participation in panel discussions and other activities, our company is committed to sharing information broadly and contributing to the advancement of the industry. Based on the many valuable opinions and suggestions received during the summit, we will continue to strive for the realization of even better wind power projects.
