Attended the Akita Future-Building Conference Leveraging Offshore Wind Power (Event Date:14 Jul 2026)

On July 14, 2026, ITOCHU Corporation (“ITOCHU”), one of our sponsor companies, attended the “Akita Future-Building Conference Leveraging Offshore Wind Power,” organized by Akita Prefecture.
This conference was established with general trading companies involved in offshore wind power projects in Akita Prefecture as its members, with the aim of extending the economic benefits of offshore wind power not only to coastal areas but also broadly to inland areas. At present, Akita Prefecture and the three companies participating in the conference—ITOCHU Corporation, Marubeni Corporation, and ENEOS Renewable Energy Corporation—are working together across a wide range of fields. Through this cooperation, the conference is expected to promote initiatives aimed at overcoming challenges such as population decline and revitalizing all areas of Akita Prefecture, while contributing to the implementation of community co-existence measures and the creation and expansion of businesses related to local issues.
At this meeting, ITOCHU reported on initiatives including the sale of rice balls developed in collaboration with local companies by the Katagami City Z-Generation Empowerment Division and FamilyMart, as well as the Akita Fair held by Kyoto Cuisine Traditional Restaurant (Kyo kaiseki) Minokichi featuring Akita-produced ingredients.
We will continue to work proactively in collaboration with municipalities throughout Akita Prefecture, taking into account the requests of local communities, so that we can contribute to regional revitalization across Akita Prefecture through offshore wind power projects.
