On May 16, 2025, a signing ceremony was held at the Akita Prefectural Office for the Lease Agreement of a Wharf for Handling Offshore Renewable Energy Power Generation Facilities. The agreement was signed by Akita Prefecture, the Tohoku Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), and our company.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Suzuki, Governor of Akita Prefecture; Mr. Watanabe, Deputy Director-General of the Tohoku Regional Development Bureau, MLIT; and Yuihara Atsushi, President and CEO of our company.
This agreement, based on the Port and Harbor Act, permits the installation and maintenance of offshore renewable energy generation facilities. Through this agreement, our company is granted the right to use Akita Port, the designated base port for the project. Preparatory construction at Akita Port will begin shortly, ahead of the offshore construction scheduled to start in 2027.
We will continue to work closely with all stakeholders to ensure the successful progress and completion of the project.
