Attended the “Akita Future-Building Conference”

On July 4, 2025, Itochu Corporation, one of our sponsor companies, attended the “Akita Future-Building Conference Leveraging Offshore Wind Power,” organized by Akita Prefecture.
This conference was established by bringing together general trading companies involved in offshore wind power projects within Akita Prefecture, with the aim of spreading the economic benefits of offshore wind not only along the coastal areas but also to the inland regions. By promoting collaboration between the prefecture and the four participating companies in diverse fields, the conference aims to advance initiatives addressing various challenges—such as population decline—facing Akita Prefecture, as well as to promote prefectural development. It is expected to contribute to the implementation of community co-existence measures and the creation and expansion of businesses related to local issues.
This fiscal year, Itochu Corporation reported on several initiatives, including support for the purchase of books for special needs schools through the Itochu Foundation, career seminars for Akita International University and Akita Chuo High School, and a comprehensive partnership agreement with Katagami City and FamilyMart. These efforts were commended by the Superintendent of Education of Akita Prefecture and the Mayor of Katagami City.
Going forward, we will continue to proactively consider requests received from municipalities throughout Akita Prefecture and strive to contribute to regional revitalization across the prefecture, taking offshore wind power projects as an opportunity.
