On September 8, 2025, an employee from JERA Nex bp Japan LLC, one of our invested companies, delivered a lecture on the theme of “Offshore Wind Power and Fisheries” at the Offshore Wind Power Akita Student Workshop 2025 (hereinafter referred to as “the Workshop”).
The Workshop was organized with the aim of engaging students in discussions on post-project development and ideas for regional coexistence in areas where offshore wind power projects are being advanced, ultimately proposing directions for regional revitalization utilizing such projects.
In the lecture, we introduced our offshore wind power projects and explained the relationship between offshore wind power and fisheries, particularly in the context of fisheries impact assessments. Students asked questions such as “How do you engage with local stakeholders to reach consensus on survey contents?” and shared impressions including, “I realized that the survey items are designed based on the spcific characteristics of each sea area.” The session thus provided a valuable opportunity for students to directly engage with both the image and the questions they hold toward offshore wind power.
Going forward, we will continue not only to share information on our projects, but also to collaborate with local educational institutions to further promote understanding of offshore wind power.
