On April 2, 2026, a groundbreaking ceremony (Jichinsai), which is a Shinto ritual in Japan, was held at Funagawa Port in Oga City, Akita Prefecture, to mark the commencement of the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Base Construction and to pray for its safe completion.
The ceremony was officiated by the Shinto priest of Funakawa Shinmeisha Shrine. We were honored by the presence of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Oga City, along with Oga City officials, as well as representatives from Sawaki Corporation, and Obata Architectural Design Office, who are responsible for the design and construction. Together, we offered prayers for the safe and successful completion of the construction work.
We will continue to prioritize safety above all and work closely with all relevant parties to ensure the smooth and reliable completion of the construction by March 2027.
