On July 12, 2026, we participated in Science Festival I, held as part of the “Summer Summer Festa 2026” at the Akita Regional Center ALVE.
Under the theme “Can Electricity Be Generated by the Wind Over the Sea? See It, Learn About It, and Experience It!”, we organized a variety of hands-on activities designed to help children in Akita become familiar with offshore wind power generation. These included an electricity workshop introducing the principles of power generation and renewable energy, a power-generation experience using experimental kits, an origami windmill-making activity, and a wind turbine coloring corner.
On the day of the event, we welcomed visitors of a wide range of ages, from preschool children to upper elementary school students. Through these interactive activities, participants were able to learn about offshore wind power generation in a fun and engaging way while gaining a sense of familiarity with the technology.
Participants shared many positive comments, including, “I want to go and see the giant wind turbines once they are completed,” “I would like to learn more about how electricity works,” and “I want to make another windmill.” Through our participation in this event, we were pleased to provide an opportunity for local children and their families to feel closer to offshore wind power generation.
We will continue to actively participate in a variety of community events, helping local residents develop a greater sense of familiarity with offshore wind power projects and deepen their understanding of renewable energy and our business activities.
